A SECURITY guard working at Turf Moor is facing jail after he admitted stealing from Burnley FC.
James Cuthbertson, 26, of Sparth Avenue, Clayton le-Moors, lied his way to getting a job with a security firm -- claiming he had no criminal record.
He said he had served in the Army for five years and had a full driving licence, Burnley Crown Court heard.
Cuthbertson admitted 12 counts of theft from the club. He also pleaded guilty to obtaining a pecuniary advantage by deception.
The defendant was bailed until November 14 for a pre-sentence report. He was warned by Judge John Foster QC: "The nature of these offences are serious and make a custodial sentence a likely option."
