A TEENAGER has appeared in court after it was claimed he assaulted a man who tried to make a detain him in a 'citizen's arrest'.

Graham Bousfield, 18, of Thirlmere Road, Lancaster, appeared before city magistrates yesterday (Tuesday) to face charges of damaging two car wing mirrors, assault by beating and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

It is claimed he was also in breach of an Anti-social behaviour order (ASBO).

Bousfield pleaded not guilty to all of the offences but was remanded in custody. He will next appear in court by remand link tomorrow (Thursday).
