I WOULD like to thank all the residents of Ullswater Road who took time and trouble to contact me over the application from the Freeholders pub to stay open until the early hours.
The licensing committee agreed to 12.30am Sunday to Thursday and 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. This is inappropriate late opening on a residential street.
The committee also ruled out of court the objections of 12 residents because they came in late. The new licensing laws are a dog's dinner and local residents are the ones who will suffer.
