Detective Inspector Simon Giles said he was to carry out an investigation to prepare a file for the coroner to conduct an inquest.

He added that a paediatric post mortem examination would be carried out and said: "There were injuries across the torso which were consistent with crush injuries but it would be conjecture to say anything more at the moment until the post mortem examination is carried out.

"We are offering specially-trained officers to support them.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and we are currently preparing a file for the coroner to conduct an inquest."
