BRASH rock'n'rollers The Glitterati have worked with Guns'N'Roses producer Mike Clink and toured with the likes of Jet, Kings Of Leon, The Datsuns and Avril Lavigne, They're striking out on their own, though, with a tour that comes to Preston on October 15.
The quintet formed in their hometown of Leeds in 2003 and released a single of Alan McGee's influential Poptones label later that year, before signing to Atlantic Records shortly afterwards.
Since then it's been a whirlwind of touring as well as finishing off their debut album, titled simply The Glitterati LP, which was recorded in Los Angeles and included the top 40 hit single You Got Nothing On Me.
"We're not the kind of band that just goes through the motions," says singer Paul Gautrey. "There are bands that have hype and bands that have one great single, but we think we've got a great thing going on and a great album. And we genuinely love what we're doing."
The Glitterati play The Mill in Preston on Saturday, October 15. Tickets are £7.
