Chorley hosted North Lancs One leaders Aldwinians, and the visitors soon showing their class with a couple of quick scores to open out an early 14 point lead.

Chorley rallied to show the determination and commitment which earned them promotion last season.

Aldwinians surged again for the line but some strong tackling from full back Simon Frost prevented the visitors from adding to the score sheet. Following some hard work in forwards Chorley started to get a foot hold in the game and some periods of quality possession allowed the back line to make inroads in to the Aldwinians defence.

The half finished with another couple of quick tries to make the score at the break 0-28.

The black and whites started the second half strongly with some quick rucked ball and well worked backs moves, seeing them camped out in the oppositions half. But the visitors showed why they are top of the league and broke on the counter attack to add another three tries and penalty to end the game with a 52 point advantage.

Captain Matt Weaver said "It was good performance from the lads against some quality opposition.

"Our defensive awareness and work rate was greatly improved from the previous weeks. If we continue to play to that standard the results we what will come our way. All the players gave the 100 per cent that was asked of them."

Chorley travel to second place Didsbury on Saturday.
