THE Dukes is leading the way in the digital revolution by being the first cinema outside London to switch to digital projection.
Technicians at the Lancaster cinema are this week installing a new digital projector - only the third in the country.
"I've seen some of the digital versions of old classics such as Casablanca and I have to say the results are amazing," Dukes film programmer Lesley Anne Rose told the Citizen.
The projector - funded by the UK Film Council's Digital Screen Network - was due to be commissioned on Monday and digital films will show from December.
