LANCASTER and Morecambe people aged 55 and over are being invited to have a greater say in how local services are shaped and developed.

A special event at the Platform in Morecambe on Friday will launch a new Lancaster District Partnership Forum for Older People.

It aims to bring together representatives from a variety of agencies, voluntary organisations and service providers who cater for older people.

The new forum, to be officially launched by County Cllr Dorothy Westell, will enable locals to express their views about the services provided and to advise planners and organisations to develop new services.

There will be a free lunch available.

To receive a free invitation or to take part in the event which will run from 10am to 4pm, call 01524-585594. Transport may be arranged if needed.
