I fully sympathise with Lisa Hunter in her fight for child maintenance (Citizen, Sept 22).
I know I have not a cat in hell's chance of retrieving any of the child support owed to my kids - owed not by the CSA, but by my ex-husband, their father, who refuses to pay child support and lives abroad in order to avoid doing so. Of course there are many loving fathers who want the best for their kids and who, even after divorce, provide for their children financially.
But there others who seem to think their kids can survive on fresh air. It is time feckless, absent parents were held accountable.
Like many mums in my position, I have to roll up my sleeves and get on with it. At times, it is hard to see the funny side.
