Heysham gained their first points of the season to move to joint sixth in the table.
Liam Hall was star of the show with a hat trick of tries, whilst the returning Russell Birkett also crossed the whitewash.
Surprisingly though, against the run of play, Cadishead got on the scoresheet first with a try under the posts in their first set of six.
The Atoms, despite their two previous losses, did not panic and Hall who took advantage of the field position to power over to register the Atoms first score.
After this the Atoms took control of the game and dominated set after set,
building up a comfortable first half lead. Over-confidence saw the Atoms trying things not in the game plan, resulting in spilt ball left, right and centre and coach Dave Crow tearing what little hair he has left out.
However, the Atoms' excellent defence, bolstered by veteran centres Simon
Brooks and Bryan Cambidge held firm and Cadishead were not allowed back into
the game despite the Atoms' mistakes.
In the second half the Atoms consolidated their lead and saw Hall complete his hat-trick, an outstanding achievement for a prop, and young stand-off Ollie Austin register his first try of the season too.
Keith Hartlebury and Dave McVernon also made it into the man of the match points with their efforts, McVernon (pictured) also made it over the whitewash.
