A MASSIVE trade union march will make its way through East Lancashire tomorrow.

The 'Peoples March to Defend the Welfare State' left Bury today and will pass through Burnley, Accrington and Blackburn and on to Preston, before ending in a Rally in Blackpool - where the Tory Party Conference is being held - on Thursday.

There will be a public meeting in Blackburn tomorrow at Audley Community Centre at 7.30pm, where speakers will include Terry Savage from USDAW and Cath Rudderforth, a TGWU district official.

The March is due to pass Intack traffic lights at about 3.45pm and there will be a welcoming rally at Blakey Moor Square, Blackburn College, at 4.30pm.
