A YOUNG woman was attacked from behind and threatened with a knife as she walked home in the early hours of today.
The victim, 27, was taking a short-cut at the back of Burnley Road, Huncoat, when she was grabbed around her neck.
Her attacker told her not to scream and said he had a knife. and would use it. He fled when he was disturbed by someone from a nearby house.
The victim suffered scratches on her face, mouth and cheeks. Police say the woman did not see a knife.
The attacker was Asian, in his 20s, about 5ft 7in tall, stockily built with short hair. He was dressed in a baggy-sleeved leather jacket, and had on soft shoes or trainers.
