BABY Terri Louise James just couldn't wait to be born - so she put in an early appearance in an ambulance on the way to hospital.

Impatient Terri Louise took everyone by surprise when she made her debut before mum Audrey could get from her home in Burton Street, Rishton, to Queen's Park Hospital maternity unit.

Ambulance technician David Bourke and paramedic Adrian Green leaped into action and delivered her safe and sound after parking the ambulance in Shadsworth Road, Blackburn.

Surprised Audrey said: "She was due but I didn't think she would arrive quite so early.

"I was at home and my contractions started getting closer so my brother Michael called an ambulance and my mum Ruth came with me.

"All of a sudden I knew she was on her way so the ambulance men had to stop and deliver her there and then".

Paramedic Adrian said: "I have worked with the ambulance service for eight years but I have never had to deliver a baby until this month when I have done two!"
