DISAPPOINTED Alan Shearer fans have bought a video boasting his greatest goals ever - which he says doesn't include any of them!

The striker called in advertising watchdogs after a plug for the Shear Magic video appeared in a soccer magazine with the words: "the greatest goals ever!"

But today the soccer star said: "The advert claimed it included my greatest goals - it did not. There was not one single game at Ewood Park.

"I was offered money to appear, but I did not feel that the quality or the content was of the standard I wanted to be associated with."

Mastervision, the company who produced it, have already abided by an advertising watchdogs' ruling that the advertisement was misleading.

But the 60-minute £12.99 video, which warns fans it is not an official release, still fails to mention that it doesn't include Ewood Park action. Mastervision boss Gary Schofield said he accepted that Shearer fans might be disappointed to discover no footage of the striker in action at Ewood. "We are sorry Alan was upset. We have apologised, but we think it is a good tribute to a superb footballer."

He explained that the advertising complaint concerned a joint magazine advert for the Shearer video and an authorised tribute to Southampton star Matthew Le Tissier with the boast: "the greatest goals ever."

Mr Schofield added: "We approached him to take part and would have paid him a substantial amount of money had he agreed.

"I cannot see how he can say it was a low quality product, because we hadn't even made it when we approached him.

"It is a quality video of some superb goals.

"We were not allowed access to footage from Ewood Park, but that is something we expected."
