SWOTS from a Blackburn school led the field in a tough orienteering competition.
The St Wilfrid's Orienteering Team - or Swot for short - took part for the first time in the British Schools Orienteering Championships at Rothbury in Northumberland.
Out of 150 schools, they came 18th with some excellent individual performances.
Geography teacher Mary Wheeler said: "It was a championship course, so it was the hardest thing they have ever had to do and they were competing against some of the best teams in the country."
Mrs Wheeler, treasurer of the Lancashire Schools Orienteering Association, said anyone interested in taking part in orienteering should contact her at the school.
