HEARTBROKEN friends and family members have turned a street corner into a floral shrine to tragic stabbing victim Shehzad Iqbal.

Messages of love and sympathy have been written on cards attached to an array of bouquets left on West Park Road, Blackburn, where the 18-year-old was stabbed.

One card simply says: "We'll miss you Shehzad, for ever, from all your family."

Others come from close friends and acquaintances whose lives the St Mary's College Student only briefly touched.

Shehzad 's family of Saunders Road, Blackburn, are expected to make a fresh appeal for his body to be released for burial in their native India.

It will come when the inquest is resumed before Blackburn coroner Mr Andre Rebello tomorrow (Tuesday, November 28). According to Muslim tradition, the body is supposed to suffer if the funeral does not take place shortly after death.
