KEVIN Gallacher gave Blackburn Rovers a welcome boost at the weekend, when he finally returned to action with the A team.
Gallacher played for an hour from the start before, as had been arranged, he was substituted.
But he managed to score a goal in the 3-1 away win over Oldham Athletic and youth boss Jim Furnell said: "He didn't seem to have any problems and it was a lift for everyone to see him back."
Gallacher has been one of the unluckiest players at Ewood.
After recovering from a badly-broken leg, the Scottish international suffered a hairline fracture in his comeback game towards the end of last season.
Then, since making another comeback in this season's opening game, he has been plagued by hamstring and back problems.
Michael Holt and Graham Coughlan got the other A team goals.
