THE number of firms going to the wall in the North West is levelling off, according to the latest figures.
Statistics show that there were 21 receivership and administration orders in the North West during November - the same number for the second month running.
Nick Dargan, head of corporate recovery for accountants Touche Ross in the North of England, predicted that the total number of receiverships in the region this year would be around 250, the same as last year.
"Individuals and businesses in the region are still assessing whether they will feel better off as a result of the Budget.
" It will be interesting to see if the feel good factor returns in time to stimulate consumer demand over the important Christmas and New Year trading period," he said.
