ACCRINGTON Stanley earned a hard fought point at Gainsborough in a match of few goal-scoring chances.
Gainsborough took the lead in the 12th minute, Grant Morrow crossing from the right from Paul Ellender to powerfully head beyond Rob Mulloy.
After 24 minutes Brian Welch headed Paul Whalley's long throw-in just wide.
A minute later Trinity's Neil Beech was stretchered with a serious leg injury.
Four minutes before the break Welch passed to Steve Shaughnessy whose first time shot went over the bar.
In the second half Welch hit a 20-yard shot that goalkeeper Gary Ingham failed to hold and went for a corner.
Stanley's equaliser came in the 66th minute, Gary Lee fouled Welch and Ged Walsh made no mistake from the penalty spot.
With only two minutes remaining Mulloy made a brilliant reflex save after Lee had crossed for substitute Jason Kabia to head goalwards.
