AMBITIOUS Accrington have ruled out another bid to lure Brian Lara to Thorneyholme Road.
The Marsden BS Lancashire League club is still searching for a replacement for record breaking Australian right armer Colin Miller who will not be returning to England this summer.
Approaches have been made by the club for some Australian talent but a deal has yet to be struck.
"If Brian Lara contacted us and wasn't demanding an extortionate fee, then we would certainly move for him," said chairman Peter Barratt. "But I don't think we will be pushing for his signature at the moment!"
Over two seasons ago Accrington tried to secure the magical Trinidadian on contract.
And after negotiating a release from his contract with Warwickshire at the end of last season, Lara has once again expressed interest in returning to English cricket.
"If a really good offer came in from an English county I'd be delighted to consider it," said Lara.
