UP TO 350 jobs were to be saved by a remarkable partnership between one of Blackburn's smallest firms and one of its biggest.
Voltair Ltd, a company formed to develop the brainwaves of an East Lancashire family of inventors, was teaming up with Royal Ordnance to develop and manufacture more than 20 products.
The deal was an important first step for Royal Ordnance in diversifying away from arms.
