BLACKBURN was one of Lancashire's burglary blackspots with the number of break-ins on the increase and the detection rate dropping.
The town was pinpointed as a problem area by Chief Constable Brian Johnson who said that new initiatives or resources were needed to combat the trend.
Today a senior Blackburn police officer said new measures were already being taken to beat the burglars.
