IF tomorrow evening's replay of this FA Trophy first round tie at Victory Park reproduces the tension and excitement of this game, it will be a cracker.
Fortunes ebbed and flowed at Boston in a typically hard fought cup tie which, in the end, neither side deserved to lose.
After seven minutes Brian Ross had a great shot tipped on to the post by Paul Bastock, then 12 minutes later he beat the keeper only to see Martin Hardy make a desperate goal line clearance.
Chorley seized the advantage on 57 minutes. Grant Leitch's flicked header from Dean Emerson's driven free kick came back off the bar and Steve Hook headed in the rebound. Boston levelled within five minutes when Marsh could only parry Andy Gray's shot and Phil Brown slid in for the equaliser.
As tempers flared in the closing minutes, Grant Leitch was booked twice in quick succession and ordered off, leaving Chorley to defend doggedly to the final whistle.
