ROCK fans besieged an East Lancashire ticket agency earlier today when word got out they had got hold of just 10 tickets for next month's Oasis concert.

Eager Oasis followers snatched up the small allocation of "returned" tickets minutes after the Just Ticket agency in Accrington opened for business.

Staff at the Blackburn Road agency say the concert at Manchester City's Maine Road ground has proved to be the most popular music event they have sold tickets for.

And demand to see the Manchester rockers has even outstripped the call for tickets to see teen idols Take That.

Fans started queuing at the shop at 7am in the morning, and the phones continued to ring throughout the day.

A spokesperson for Just the Ticket said: "When we arrived at the shop they were queuing right round the building. "People have been ringing all week asking for tickets and word must have got out that we were going to receive a small allocation in the post."

The spokesperson added: "We had plenty of crying girls when tickets for Take That sold out but we have had never had anything like this before.

"It has been beyond belief really."

Disappointed fans also flooded Reidy's Home of Music in Penny Street, Blackburn, when a rumour spread that the shop also had tickets on sale.

Around 40,000 tickets were sold within three hours when tickets for the Oasis concert went on sale last month.
