A SPECIAL meeting has been called in an effort to tackle the problem of young vandals targeting a popular park.
Residents are growing increasingly worried about the number of attacks on Rhyddings Park, Oswaldtwistle, and a campaign has been launched calling for Hyndburn Council to take action.
The wreckers have targeted the playground, tennis courts, pavilion and tennis courts at the park causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.
Lancashire's Youth and Community Service is hosting the meeting at the Harvey Street Centre at 2pm on Friday, March 8.
Representatives from the police, local councillors and youth workers will also be at the event.
County councillor Dorothy Westell, who will chair the meeting, said: "I sincerely hope that this meeting will be the start of meaningful progress towards greater provision for the young people."
