MASSIVE £12 million improvements to Burnley General Hospital could get the go-ahead next month, says health trust chief executive, David Chew.
He says good progress is being made on the major Phase Four improvement scheme following talks with regional health authority bosses.
And that could mean the project getting the all-clear without it having to gain approval from the National Health Service Executive in Leeds.
Mr Chew said a decision was expected within four weeks and, if successful, the scheme could start this year.
The project includes major upgrading, developing day care facilities and new building - all aimed at taking the general hospital site into the 21st century.
