A BUILDING society cashier was held at gun-point and told to hand over cash during a town centre raid.

The 21-year-old woman from the Bradford and Bingley, in King William Street, Blackburn, placed a "substantial amount" of cash into a plastic bag held by the raider.

An automatic alarm system was pressed and the police arrived seconds after the man escaped with the money.
