FUND-RAISERS will hold a concert to celebrate the end of their successful campaign.

The Ellen Small Appeal was launched last year to raise £10,000 to buy a Carchair for the dedicated charity worker and fund-raiser who suffers from severe multiple sclerosis.

Ellen, 52, of St James' Estate, Darwen, is delighted that the campaign has reached its target.

She said: "I'm very pleased with the response. I can't walk at all now so the Carchair is going to revolutionise my life."

Appeal treasurer Brenda Parkinson said: "We have had some generous donations and are thrilled to have reached the target. We intend to keep fund-rasing on a smaller scale to pay for the running costs of the chair."

The concert at Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre on May 18 will feature Haslingden Choir and Martin F Colam of DMS Productions on the keyboard.

Tickets costing £2.50 will be available from April 13. Anybody wanting them or willing sell them should ring Mrs Parkinson on 232269 or Mrs Small on 772224.
