Morecambe 1 Bamber Bridge 0 ONE goal was enough to secure Morecambe's Lancashire ATS Trophy victory, and it was quite a strike from new hero Justin Jackson.

More than 2,000 fans, the majority of them behind the Shrimps, packed into Deepdale for the final, a game which never quite lived up to expectations.

The high spot of the match was Jackson's 38th minute goal, a combination of great team work and a classy finish from the former Ayr United front man.

Paul Tomlinson hit a ball to Jim McCluskie in the box and his touch gave Jackson the time to control the ball and curl it sweetly past Berryman in the Bamber Bridge goal.

Bridge fought to get back in the game but never really tested the Morecambe defence or Steve McIlhargey between the sticks.

And with just five minutes to go ,and the Shrimps' fans already celebrating, Mark Ceraolo could have made it 2-0 but he smashed the ball over the bar from less than five yards with the goal at his mercy.

In the end it didn't matter. Paul Tomlinson lifted the trophy for Morecambe giving them revenge for last year's final and their second ATS win in three years. TEAM: McIlhargey, Burns, Lavelle, Tomlinson, Hughes, Grimshaw, Monk, Knowles, Jackson, McCluskie, Cain. SUBS: Sang, Armstrong, Norman. Bromsgrove 1 Morecambe 0 MORECAMBE'S recent eight-game unbeaten run came to an end on Tuesday night at the hands of Bromsgrove despite an excellent Morecambe performance.

John Hunt scored the only goal of the game for the home side a minute after the break when he finished off a flicked-on corner, but by then the Shrimps could have had a hatful.

Mark Ceraolo was guilty of missing a number of good chances in the first period as Morecambe had what is often described as 'one of those nights' in front of goal.

The closest Jim Harvey's men came to scoring was in the 58th minute when the rejuvenated Ian Cain saw his brilliant effort crash on to the crossbar.

And it just wasn't to be for the Christie Park outfit who must now beat Kidderminster on Saturday to be sure of a top ten Conference finish. Stevenage 1 Morecambe 1 THE Morecambe fans were treated to their second party of the week on Saturday, but this time it was for their opponents.

A point was enough for Stevenage to claim the GM Vauxhall Conference title. They might have won it sooner had it not been for the Shrimps who have now taken four points off the champions.

And Morecambe looked like spoiling the party completely when Mark Ceraolo put them ahead in the 33rd minute. He knocked home a Michael Knowles cross from close range after the young midfielder had caught former PNE man Neil Trebble in possesion.

Stevenage threw themselves forward looking for the goal that could give them the title. They were eventually rewarded thanks to a bit of help from the referee and the Morecambe players.

Michael Knowles was dismissed for his second bookable offence in the 75th minute and from the resulting free-kick, Corey Browne outwitted Shrimps 'keeper Steve McIlhargey and nodded home.
