TEENAGE hearthrobs and so-called successors to Take That, Boyzone were given a roaring welcome when they played in Preston as part of their national tour.

Nearly 2,000 teenage girls packed into the Guild Hall to be serenaded by the five Irish youths, who took the stage by storm.

They brought the house down with encore after encore and had some girls near hysterical when they played their latest chart-topping single Coming Home.

Lead singer Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Shane Lynch, Michael Duffy and Keith Duffy have had five hit singles to date and are proving favourites among dejected Take That fans.

Reputedly they are home-loving boys who take their parents' advice when it comes to school work and careers.
