POLICE are searching for witnesses following a fire in an empty house in Edgerton Street, Sutton, in which petrol was poured through the letter box.
The flames activated the fire alarm but not before an estimated £500 worth of damage had been caused to the council property.
The incident occurred between 1 and 1.30pm on Sunday, May 5.
