UNBEATEN Super League leaders Saints are facing a threequarter crisis as they bid to maintain their 100 per cent record with a daunting trip to Warrington tomorrow, Friday, kick-off 7.30pm.

For Welsh centre Scott Gibbs will miss the game because of a shoulder injury sustained against London Broncos, while his partner Paul Newlove has since been nursing a calf strain and winger Anthony Sullivan suffered similar damage in training.

So Saints' coach Shaun McRae faces some tricky selection problems before naming his side to take on third-placed Warrington who, with John Dorahy and former Saint Alex Murphy at the helm, can be relied upon to give the Knowsley Road side a hot reception.

Wilderspool has not been a happy hunting ground for Saints in recent times for they have won only once in seven visits since 1989, while the 'Wire' triumphed by 26-16, 31-10 and 17-10 over the last three seasons.

The referee is David Campbell and the complete match will be screened on the Sky channel from 7pm, and the Academy teams of both clubs will meet in a curtain-raiser which kicks off at 5pm.

High-technology inter-net 'E mail' was the unlikely source of a message sent to the Star from a young Saints' fan living in America this week. Au-pair girl Moira Collins wrote from Massachusetts: 'My mother Sheila, of Eccleston Hill, sent me your report of the Wembley victory and I proudly showed it to my American friends. My one regret is that I was not in St. Helens to welcome the team home.'
