LONGRIDGE hit Penwortham for six on Saturday - beating them by eight wickets.
They are proving to be the team worthy of top spot in the Moore & Smalley Palace Shield.
Anthony Procter with 5 for 19 and Andy Dodd 3 for 24 put the whole Penwortham side back into the pavilion for only 54, then saw Longridge hit the target with 56 for 2.
Second-placed Garstang won by the same margin at Freckleton.
After the home side had posted 161 for 9, Garstang hit back with 164 for 2, Cliff Wellings with 59 top scored.
At BAe Preston the home side went down to Gregson Lane by 38 runs, and Wrea Green beat Fulwood and Broughton by 3 wickets.
But the day belonged to Springfields bowler Taya Ali who took all 10 Fylde wickets for 24 runs in Division E.
