REGARDING the readers' comments under the headline "MPs' noses in the trough" and the pictures of three of East Lancashire's Labour representatives (Letters, July 16), it seems to have escaped people's notice that Conservative MPs accepted the deal and also voted for it as well.

That does not excuse what they did, but before, Arnold Lloyd, for instance hands back his activist card, he owes it to his MP to let her explain why she voted for the 26 per cent increase. Then, if he's not satisfied, by all means let him take whatever action he thinks necessary.

Before calling your MPs rogues, have a look at how many hours they put in on your behalf in the Commons and in the constituencies and then react.
