THE SKINNER family from Ramsbottom have gone hole-in-one crazy this season.

After spending their entire golfing careers without even coming close, all three scored aces within months of one another.

Strike one: April - Robin, a 19-handicapper, (pictured left) fires a five-iron to the elevated ninth green at Walmersley Golf Club and the ball bounces once before rolling straight into the hole.

Strike two: July - Mum Barbara, a 31-handicapper, knocks a fabulous five-wood shot up the hill towards the 119-yard par-three first and into the cup at Rossendale Golf Club.

Strike three: August - Dad Frank, a 17-handicapper, directs a glorious eight-iron shot onto Rossendale's 113-yard par-three 13th which checks and drops into the hole.

"I still haven't got over Robin's hole-in-one, never mind my own," joked Mrs Skinner.

"We're all delighted - a few pounds worse off having bought drinks for everyone in the clubhouse afterwards, but it was worth it. Myself and Robin were giving Frank - he's the best at this game - a hard time before he managed to complete the set.

"But he had the last laugh for he was the only one of us to see his ball actually find the hole - ours were hit onto elevated greens and we couldn't see the ball drop in. It's very satisfying and given me renewed appetite for the game."
