WORK was to start on demolishing Dutton's Blackburn brewery to make way for a new supermarket.
The old Salford brewery, closed in the 1970s, was to be the first to go to make way for the new Morrisons superstore scheduled to open in 1988.
The next stage of the project was to demolish the former bottling plant at the opposite side of High Street.
