AN afternoon of music in aid of the Meningitis Trust will provide a chance for a potential record breaker to tune up.

John Hearne, 15, is one of two pupils on the Technics Music Academy course at Rimmers Music, Blackburn, who will take part in a national attempt to enter the Guinness Book Of Records on September 29.

John will be part of a group playing at Rimmers Music's Darwen Street store for a play-athon in aid of the Meningitis Trust between 2pm and 8pm on Wednesday.

On the day of the record attempt in Sheffield, he and fellow Rimmers' pupil Martin Brindle, together with more than a hundred other musicians aim to beat the previous record for the size of a keyboard ensemble.
