A TRIP of a lifetime to the United States awaits breakfast TV viewer Amanda Berry.

Amanda, 22, never usually enters TV quizzes but when Channel Four's The Big Breakfast ran the competition "It's All Gone Pear-shaped" she knew the answers and rang in.

She said: "I didn't think I would get through but they answered. Co-presenter Rick Adams phoned me back and asked me questions, matching up famous couples.

"He then told me I had won a trip to Los Angeles. I was a bit shocked."

Amanda, of Padiham, went off to work at EJ Riley snooker table manufacturers in the town, where colleagues were impressed with her win. She is taking her boyfriend Alan Fryer, of Barnoldswick, with her on the six-night holiday next year, which includes a VIP trip to Universal Studios and free car hire.
