THE worried sister of a woman who has disappeared with a convicted child sex offender today made an emotional appeal for her to get in touch.

Christine Mountain, 42, says she has been left sickened after discovering sister Elaine Wade had fled Blackburn with paedophile Robert Williams.

And heartbroken Christine said: "I just need her to call me and let me know she's not in danger."

Christine and Elaine stopped talking to each other 12 months ago when Christine found out her sister had been seeing a convict.

But it was only when a cutting of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph's expos on Williams was sent to her Bradford home by a friend in Blackburn that she realised that he had been convicted of a string of offences against young children.

Christine said: "Elaine always told me that Williams was innocent but she would never tell me what he was inside for. Now I know why.

"I can't believe she would ever get involved with a man like this. "I have strong views on child abuse and don't believe men who do this to children should be allowed to walk the streets.

"Elaine started to write to Williams in prison. I think she may have been involved in a group that writes to prisoners.

"She started to visit him and that's when I became worried.

"The final straw for me was when he got out and she moved in with him in Blackpool."

Williams and Elaine then moved to Blackburn Council flats at St Albans Court, just a stone's throw away from a primary school.

When we revealed Williams' evil past, he fled the flat, taking Elaine, 48, with him.

Before disappearing, Williams told us that he deliberately does not tell the authorities where he is living in an attempt to lead a normal life.

He had also been in touch with a charity which works with children.

Christine added: "I want Elaine to call me but I would never let Williams anywhere near my home after what he's done.

"I have three young children and I just wouldn't take that chance.

"I just need a call from her to let me know she's okay, that's all I ask."

Christine's number is 01274 220397.
