SEVEN policemen were injured when mob violence flared on a trouble-torn council estate. Officers came under fire from a barrage of stones thrown by a crowd of more than 100 people who had gathered in Roman Road estate, Blackburn.
Health bosses in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale were given the green light to go it alone.
The aims of the shake-up's were to slash waiting lists and improve the quality of services.
