THE FAMILY of 14-year-old Kristen Hoyle are delighted she has scooped first place in a holiday camp's Best Act Of The Season award - it means they get to go on yet another free holiday.

It will be their fifth free week away, thanks to the multi-talented teenager.

Whether it is stand-up comedy, singing, Irish dancing, playing the keyboard or impersonations, Kristen has been impressing judges at Haven Holiday Camps since the family started going in 1992.

This summer, for the fourth year running, she entered and won the week's Junior Star Trail talent competition.

This meant a free holiday at the camp in Perranporth, Cornwall, and the chance to enter the seasonal finals.

And this year for the first time, Kristen, of Farholme Lane, Stacksteads, was over the moon when judges picked her act - five minutes of singing, impersonations and comedy - as the best of the summer. Now her family are looking forward to another trip away to Scarborough, where she will take part in the national finals. During the week of October 26 she will be performing to a host of celebrity judges and battling it out with 42 other competitors for first place.

Her mother, Lynn Hoyle, said: "It's getting to the point when we are beginning to expect a free holiday.

"Kristen makes up the routines herself and we are amazed by her talent.

"She's a born entertainer.

"I get really nervous watching her.

"At the seasonal finals I had goose bumps on my goose bumps.

"Kristen wants to become a Haven-mate when she is 18, like her two brothers, but she has her own act and we think she is destined for showbusiness."
