AN EAST Lancashire firm is winning the export war in the Far East.
Blackburn-based Longworth has won a new contract worth £250,000 to supply plant and technology to a polyester film business in China.
This is the fifth such order supplied by the Glenfield Park company to the Chinese market.
Sales and marketing director Brian Longworth said: "The contract has been signed but we are not yet in a position to give all the details. These will be announced shortly." The plant is due to be commissioned in August and a team of Longworth experts will supervise the operation and train personnel.
Longworth, who specialise in filtration refurbishment, have also installed filter cleaning systems in Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia.
Said Mr Longworth: "We have proved that if British companies can make these markets aware of the high quality of our technology and craftsmanship the business is there to be won.
"We are now building our production resources to take advantage of opportunities that are manifesting themselves in other parts of the world."
