LEIGH RMI are set to fulfil a promise they made to the Unibond League when they moved from Grundy Hill two years ago.
They then gave an undertaking that their new Hilton Park home would become a stadium of which to be proud.
And, with RL now out of administration, the signal has been given for major ground improvements.
RMI chairman Chris Healey is delighted that at long last the sporting partnership has control of its own destiny. "It has been a long, hard and sometimes frustrating slog," he said. "But now we can keep the promise we made to Unibond officials when they allowed us to move to Leigh.
"We will now start work replacing the entire floodlighting system along with a new PA system and urgent ground safety operations.
"Once the initial improvements have been completed, major upgrading work will follow.
"And, with both clubs strengthening their partnership, we can go forward together with a bright and secure future."
