GREATER Manchester's Deputy Chief Constable John Stalker ended his 28-year police career 'with a clear conscience.'
He resigned a year after being reinstated following an investigation into accusations that he had been associated with criminals and misused police cars. It was claimed there had been a conspiracy to discredit him while he headed an investigation into allegations over a 'shoot to kill' policy against terrorists by the Royal Ulster Constabulary.
