A REVISED scheme to build homes on the site of a demolished mill looks set to be agreed by councillors.

Violet Homes went back to the drawing board after a previous planning application to build houses at Pave Shed, Back Lane, Trawden, was refused.

The new plan for 16 houses instead of 19 is recommended for approval, despite continued opposition from nearby residents, when Pendle Council's Colne area committee meets on Thursday.

A report to councillors says the site is being used as a dumping ground for household rubbish and any redevelopment of the site would benefit the area in the long run.

Five letters objecting to the scheme on the grounds that it would cause increased traffic problems and put a strain on the village's facilities have been sent to the council.
