A MINI conservatory caused a headache for organisers of a church flower festival.

The conservatory had been loaned by Clitheroe firm Ultraframe, to provide the centrepiece of the Trinity Methodist Church's Flower Festival.

Unfortunately, when workmen came to deliver it, they found it was too big to get through the door.

The conservatory had to be taken back to the factory and stripped down before being re-built inside the church.

However, the organisers of the festival think it was worth it in the end.

The Flower Festival, on the theme of 'Work and Worship in Clitheroe,' is being held at churches all over the town over the Bank Holiday, as part of the celebrations marking 200 years of Methodism.

One of the organisers, Mr Alan Braithwaite, said: "It's a beautiful event and we hope a lot of people will flood through the door."
