AN era of service to St Theodore's RC High School, Burnley, closed with the retirement of three teachers.
Dave Preedy, Sylvia Sutcliffe and Dr Ken Durkin bade farewell to the school where they had taught for a total of 75 years.
Mr Preedy taught physical education to the boys for 31 years and teachers from other schools, representing Burnley School Sports Association, went to St Theodore's to present him with a gift to mark his service to the association.
Food studies and science teacher Mrs Sutcliffe worked at the school for 20 years, featuring in particular in school drama productions, the Duke of Edinburgh gold award scheme and all parent-teacher activities.
Dr Durkin retired after two periods at the school spanning 24 years, teaching religious education and English.
"They have given outstanding service to the school and we wish them every happiness in future years," said headmaster Mr C.D. Meehan.
