TINY TOT Bethany Shuttleworth is most DEFINITELY going to Spain.

And it's all down to marathon man Gary Whitworth - and The Journal.

Gary, 36, has been raising money for the Eczema Society with his sixth 26.2-miler at this year's Flora London Marathon.

And now part of his charity cash will help four-year-old Bethany on her journey to the Costa del Sol in search of a miracle cure in hot mud springs high in the mountains guarding Marbella.

Bethany has suffered from eczema all her life.

And mother Angela, now desperately seeking employment, has tried long and hard to find a cure.

She believes she may find the answer in Spain. But plans to go were in jeopardy after she lost her job.

Last week we spotlighted her plight - and Gary immediately came to the rescue.

His wife Julie, of Dorothy Grove, Leigh, said: "We were just delighted to help.

"My daughter Stacey, who is two, also suffers from eczema and we know all the problems Angela must be facing.

"Me elder daughter Chelsey and Angela's daughter Tamsyn, who are both five, are in the same class at Leigh CE so I did know of the eczema trouble.

"Then I read the story in The Journal and Gary wanted to help."

Angela, who lives in the Bedford area, added: "I'm just thrilled to bits. It's unbelievable.

"I can't thank Gary and Julie enough for what they have done. Now Bethany will be going to Spain in September."

Caring Journal readers have also stepped to the rescue.

We received anonymous gifts of cash and cheques which have been handed over to Angela.

She said: "I just can't get over how kind people are. Please say 'Thank-You' to everyone for me. I am so very grateful."
