REGARDING Mrs Kathleen Bulcock's remarks (Letters, July 31), the people of the North West will be able to celebrate the royal Golden Wedding and their own, as there is a service in Blackburn Cathedral on September 23.
I know this because my mother and father had their Golden Wedding in May and a week later my mother died and my dad has had a letter from the Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire inviting him to this service.
