WORRIED householders were to set up an action committee to fight any council plans to put a gipsy site near their homes.
Residents in the "desirable" Towneley area of Burnley feared Labour leaders will choose land near their homes for the proposed £500,000 gipsy camp and had presented a 135-name petition to the town hall objecting to any such move.
